Create your own story in this puzzle game Storyteller is a video game developed by Daniel Benmergui that challenges players to write their own stories. In this reactive puzzle game, players are given a title, a character, and a setting. They then had to weave it all together into a narrative, which included a short storytelling game that included a library full of characters and themes. It also features different types of stories including love, lies, madness, infidelity and regret. However, keep in mind that the game is still in the demo stage. The levels you can play are limited, as are the characters and themes. How to play the game? In Storyteller, players are tasked with creating stories based on the characters, titles, and settings provided by the game. They can do this by placing everything on a comic strip. Compilation is as simple as clicking and dragging story elements onto one of the comic panels below. Levels are cleared as you write the plot as stated, there are different plots available in the game including love, regret, madness and more. There is also a large selection of characters, from heroes and villains to vampires and dragons. You can write whatever comes to your mind with it. Note that the way things behave on the board depends on the context. It also builds on their innate characters, relationships established in the previous panel, and true to its name, Storyteller has a visual style that uses fairy tale illustrations and a cartoon-like layout. Little animations for actions and reactions make things even more fun, especially if you get an answer wrong or your scene doesn’t match the title. However, as mentioned, this is a demo game. The stories that can be solved are limited and mostly relate to love stories, fairy tales and tragedies.
Should you play it? If you are a fan of visual novels, Storyteller is your choice. Only this time you don’t have to live the story. You can create it instead. In this game you have many stories that you can write as you want. Remember to follow the plot that is given in the title of each puzzle.
